MANILA, Philippines – From managing expenses between freelance projects to keeping a small business running, Filipinos with different income sources can face financial needs that do not always align with traditional lending requirements. PeraSure, a digital lending app operated by SEC-registered Sulit Lending Corporation, has officially launched in the Philippines to provide eligible borrowers with another option for accessing credit.
The platform is designed to serve salaried employees alongside gig workers and micro-entrepreneurs, including those whose earnings do not come through a regular payroll. Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority show that approximately 9.9 million Filipinos work in gig or informal roles, equivalent to around 22% of the country’s 44 million employed workers.
For these workers, the requirement to provide regular payslips or employer-issued documentation can be a barrier to applying for credit. PeraSure seeks to simplify the process by allowing eligible applicants to use a government-issued ID and basic employment or income information.
“Many hardworking Filipinos earn a living outside a regular payroll, yet lending has long been built around payslips,” PeraSure noted. “We want borrowers to see exactly what they will pay, within the SEC’s limits, before they confirm a loan.”
Borrowers can review a complete breakdown of interest rates, applicable fees, and total repayment amounts before confirming their loan. The platform’s upfront disclosures are intended to help users understand their borrowing obligations before proceeding.
PeraSure enters the Philippine market as the SEC’s updated ceiling for qualifying small loans takes effect. Under Memorandum Circular No. 14, Series of 2025, effective April 1, 2026, combined interest and fees are capped at 12% per month, reduced from 15% per month.
The app charges a daily interest rate as low as 0.10%, below the regulatory ceiling. Eligible users can access loan amounts of up to ₱50,000, with repayment periods ranging from 30 to 180 days depending on their individual credit evaluations.
The platform also offers revolving credit, allowing eligible borrowers to draw on an approved credit line over time instead of reapplying and requalifying for every transaction. Credit limits may grow as borrowers build a repayment record.
Through its simplified application process, upfront cost disclosures, and revolving credit arrangement, PeraSure aims to address the day-to-day borrowing needs of Filipinos whose financial circumstances and income streams vary.
The PeraSure app is now available for download on Google Play.
